STORY

OPERATION HOMEPAGE
THE
TARGET - Terramentals aim to steal a British Royal Navy
submarine, to destroy oil wells in the North Sea, by way of
drawing attention to the manifold oil discharges, and their
unlawful detention, as legitimate conservation protestors.
Don
Campbell is the Chief Executive officer of Babcock, an MOD
subcontractor, trusted to service and maintain the British Royal
Navy's nuclear submarine fleet.
They
have been under investigation for a number of years as to
security leaks and a faulty servicing record against the fleet
of Astute
class nuclear submarines.
Procurement
fraud is high on the agendas of the US and UK military. A
certain amount is budgeted for, to get the job done, but when
standards sink below the threshold where the reliable
operation of peacekeeping weapons of war is involved, then
questions will be asked. Knowing this, Don Campbell (no
relation of the famous Sir
Malcolm, or Donald
Campbell, land and water speed record aces, though often
remarked on), has taken extra steps to avoid the short cuts in
servicing schedules being detected. Those lapses in servicing
being cumulatively redirected to efficiency bonuses, as
dividends and other remunerations.
The
MOD contractor has recently bought a multi-million dollar
property in the Bahamas,
via several shell companies, sure in the knowledge that such
transactions will be almost impossible to trace. The property
not being in his name, in any event, to avoid drawing
attention to himself, or questions being asked; but that of a homosexual
lover which relationship he has kept a secret for many a year.
Campbell
is aware of the oil leaks in the North Sea,
having been briefed by Nick Johnson, and Sir Rodney Dunbar,
not to report on hydrocarbons they may detect when servicing
Royal Navy hulls. In return for which, they will not question
increases in subcontractor billing costs.

In the John
Storm series of ocean awareness
adventures, extreme activists use their Predator HK to
steal an Astute
class submarine, belonging to the British
Royal Navy. The anti global warming terrorists plan to steal US and
Soviet submarines, as part of their agenda to prove the
futility of all out thermonuclear annihilation. Using their
own illegal, weapons against the perpetrators of what they see
as crimes against humanity.
In
this fictional John
Storm adventure, the Astute submarine commandeered,
develops radiation leaks, making the vessel dangerous to life
in the ocean, and eventually, those submariners operating the
vessel, adding to the list of complaints of the
Terramentalists.
