WILLIAM L. WALLACE - BAE SYSTEMS
ATLANTIS STORY MAP & OPERATION HOMEPAGE
THE TARGET - Terramentals aim to steal a British Royal Navy submarine, to destroy oil wells in the North Sea, by way of drawing attention to the manifold oil discharges, and their unlawful detention, as legitimate conservation protestors.
William Liam Wallace is a director at BAE Systems, a Ministry of Defence sub-contractor to the British Royal Navy, and a long serving and proud ex design engineer, who is strongly opposed to procurement funding fraud, bribery, or dishonesty of any kind, where such attitude may find its way onto the shop floor and infect the quality assurance expected of any military grade equipment supplier.
As an honest man, he did not advance as may have been expected, though a truly gifted designer, where there is an acknowledged element of fraud in just about every military sphere in all nations, indeed, there is an allowance built into the system in assessing bidding for contracts, in both US and UK camps, that Parliament and the US Senate accept as being normal and inevitable.
Most people would find that information unacceptable, not realising how military services are procured. Such slush funds are deemed tolerable, so as to incentivise people with knowledge that governments would not want to fall into the wrong hands. It is a closed shop club of sorts. Whistleblowers are prevented from revealing the extent of the corruption via the Official Secrets Act. Where the threat of imprisonment is typically sufficient to prevent leaks.
But in certain circumstances, it is permissible to bring the system into disrepute, where in not doing so the lives of military personnel may be compromised on the battlefield or during marine fleet operations.
William discovers a faulty specification for components of the reactor core of the Astute and proposed Aukus replacement nuclear submarines. Once the radiation leakage goes public via the BBC's Jill Bird, her feels it is his duty and very appropriate to blow the whistle as a protected source.
OPERATION NEPTUNE CAST:
In the John Storm series of ocean awareness adventures, extreme activists use their Predator HK to steal an Astute class submarine, belonging to the British Royal Navy. The anti global warming terrorists plan to steal US and Soviet submarines, as part of their agenda to prove the futility of all out thermonuclear annihilation. Using their own illegal, weapons against the perpetrators of what they see as crimes against humanity.
In this fictional John Storm adventure, the Astute submarine commandeered, develops radiation leaks, making the vessel dangerous to life in the ocean, and eventually, those submariners operating the vessel, adding to the list of complaints of the Terramentalists.
